The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a progressive and flexible Hill Descent Control for significantly improved vehicle control away from paved roads. A new Uphill Start Hill Start Assist prevents the vehicle ability automatically at the back wheels and ensures gentle and controlled start.

- 6.1 HEMI V8 gasoline engine, standard on Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Is the first advanced 3.0 CRD V6 with 160 kW (218 hp) and 510 Newton metres torque for the base model Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo standard. With four valves per cylinder, piezoelectric injection, a variable-geometry turbocharger and serial diesel particulate filter, the 3.0 V6 CRD not only cultivated power in all situations, but also satisfied with 10.3 litres of diesel per 100 kilometers (according to EU Standard in combined driving cycle).
For friends of the particularly strong motor, there are still sporting the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with a 6.1 liter V8 large and 313 kW (426 hp).
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has a wide range of systems and technologies of active and passive safety. Series are ABS, brake assist, ESP, traction control and overturning avoidance system on board, via throttle valves or no brake handle situations potentially being under threat of overturning prevented.
The passive safety systems include advanced, triggering a multi-front airbags, curtain side airbags for both rows of seats, a transponder immobilizer and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has a variety of high quality features, for the 2008 model year were introduced. This includes the innovative new 20-gigabyte hard disk audio system for integrated information, entertainment, and communication and - upon request - Navigation. This Radio-/Navigation system the next generation has a 16.5 centimeter moving large TFT screen with touch screen, USB port to upload pictures and music and an RCA jack for connection of MP3 players.
The system can be two-or three-dimensional graphics and animation as well as different fonts and styles. It provides current traffic data in real time and also offers many new features for music, sound, movies or personal pictures.
Also new for the Jeep Grand Cherokee are the heated rear bench seat, the Park View reversing camera, UConnect-free, new 18-inch alloy wheels (Overland), and even installing xenon main headlamps (Overland and SRT8).
